Topic Description:
What the US Attorney’s Office does.
How the US Attorney’s Office investigates white collar crimes.
The charging and prosecuting factors that the US Attorney’s office considers in white collar cases.
The presentation will be divided into several parts:
First, Allan will describe the factors the US attorneys consider in deciding whether to initiate a formal white collar investigation. Then, he will talk about the charging and prosecuting considerations, after the investigation. Last, Allan will open up the floor to questions.

Allan has 35 years as a lawyer and civil litigation partner in prominent Portland law firms; 15 years as white collar criminal prosecutor: 4 years as head of white collar crime unit; 3 years as senior litigation counsel.
